First off, I’m not one to post reviews and I don’t know John nor have I heard of JMT Roofing before this. Normally I would get several quotes but after 5 minutes on the phone with John, it felt like I was talking to an old friend that I could totally trust to do a great job and not let me down. Late Sunday evening a couple of weeks back I found out that our roof was missing tiles in several places, to the point of exposed bare wood; a raccoon had tried to get in. My wife was on my case to get someone there ASAP because the forecast was for heavy rain the next two days. After looking at the reviews on this site, I called the top three ranked companies. John was the only one that responded that day and came over early evening after my wife got home; I was still at the office. John covered up the bare patches on the roof for us while he was preparing the estimate. I gave the go ahead for the roof and gutters right on the spot and have had no regrets since. John arranged for a crew to start Wednesday morning and they showed up first thing at 7:30 am. John and his crew exemplified competence and professionalism at every stage; from stripping the roof to the final clean up. John has instilled an old school set of values within his crew and it shows in the workmanship and the care they take with a job done well. This differentiates JMT from the other companies. It was a truly pleasant and stress free experience dealing with John and his crew at JMT. Kudos to John and his crew. And by the way, the two other roofing companies I called Monday morning for a quote called me back on Wednesday, it kind of makes you wonder what value they place on customer service.

John and his crew replaced my roof earlier in the summer which they had done an excellent job. This early winter i had noticed two leaks from my gutters and I had contacted John with anxiousness and he returned my call within a few hours. He advised that his company was very busy but would visit for an estimate as soon as he was able or convenient. Surprisingly he showed up two days later and provided me with the best estimate against two well known competing companies I had also obtained estimates from at a later date. After committing, to my surprise again, JMT showed up to do the work a week later. John and his crew, as they had with my roof had done a perfect job and also left my home cleaner than prior to them arriving. His crew was professional and friendly. They kindly and patiently showed me step by step what they were doing and also went out of their busy schedule to hook up my christmas lights free of charge. I without hesitation have highly recommended JMT to all our neighbours, family and close friends. It is unusual to find a company with such integrity and strength of character. John had (as before) dropped by after the job to ensure all was done well and also provided a dvd to show that the work was done as promised. It is comforting to have faith not only with John but his entire crew. It is obvious that they take their work personally and with complete pride. Review of roofing & gutter works Recently I hired JMT Roofing & Painting INC to convert the 25 year-old cedar roof of my house to asphalt shingle. After removing the old cedar materials etc. , strong plywood boards and new waterproof sheets were added to make the new roof more durable and reliable. Overlapping shingle sheets were then placed & fixed over the entire area. 70 plus high quality progress photos were taken and later compressed into a zipped file and sent to me via an email. I downloaded the file and unzipped it for viewing the photos. I used a free iZip software obtained from Apple Store to do the unzipping work in my iPad. The digital photos have enabled me to see what has been done on the roof of my house without taking the risk of going up onto the roof. The crew working for the roofing work are very experienced, competent, and hard working. An innovative way of collecting rainwater runoff from two merging sloping roof sections over the main doorway was designed. A special type of waterproofing sheet was torched onto a plywood board to guide any rainwater runoff to fall properly into a new gutter at this location. The contract also includes the installation of new gutters and rainwater downpipes. The crew has improved the drainage design of rainwater catchment areas over the two levels of my house. Updated new drainage fittings ( funnels & drain guards ) have also been provided to allow easy maintenance to be carried out later on. The gutters were moulded on site and cut to required length so as to provide a smooth surface for efficient flow of rainwater runoff. Some details and impressive benefits are highlighted below:--- (1) Rainwater catchment area: a new rainwater down-pipe at the higher level of the house is now provided at the eastern side of the house instead of the old location in front of the main doorway. With a smaller catchment area for the gutter at the lower level of the house , minor flooding of the gutter in front of the main doorway would be eliminated. (2a) Funnels located at the connection points of gutters & down pipes :-- under heavy rain conditions, any leaves and dirts carried in the running water of the gutters will be flushed down by a vortex of water in the funnels. Maintaining a clean surface of the gutters will eliminate breeding grounds for mosquitos. Furthermore, clean water in the gutters contains more oxygen , which will discourage the growth of algae. (2b) Drain guards located near the ground-level ends of rainwater down-pipes: -- Movable rubbish traps are provided in these drain guards. Any leaves & dirts retained in these rubbish traps can be easily and frequently removed. There will then be no more need to hire someone to go up the roof to clean the gutters. These traps will also prevent rubbish from getting into the underground drains. (3) Impressive technology used in moulding the gutters: -- A large coil of aluminum sheet was kept inside their working vehicle. A machine inside this vehicle was used to unwind the aluminum sheet. During the unwinding process, the aluminum sheet would pass through a system of pulleys and then the moulded gutter would come out of this vehicle. The outside section of this gutter would then be supported by a tripod. When the required length of gutter has been moulded, the technician would cut it for use. For example, a continuous 50 ft length of smooth and straight gutter was moulded in this way. The work is very impressive. Such a gutter will enable rainwater runoff to flow in a trouble-free and efficient way through it. Conclusion: JMT Roofing and Painting Inc has done a very good job for me. John Jaswal provides a prompt and good service in re-roofing. He is accessible at all times when he sends his crews over to do the roofing work and the homeowner has questions/concerns. I met quite a few different company representatives that responded to my request for estimates and decided to go with John for the sole reason that I felt more comfortable with his explanation of his quote and he appeared to be knowledgeable, friendly and honest. Issues arose during the roof replacement due to the heavy rains and when I called or emailed John I always received an immediate response. The crew were friendly and tidied up after themselves each day. I will be contracting John to do the yearly maintenance he recommended for the future life of the roof. John is awesome, this guy beat everybody in his quote, warned me about issues that may arise and what the costs would be if they did come about all during the initial quote. Non of which actually happened and no extra costs were accrued. He was here at the drop of a hat to do my quote as well. I had a few quotes by different companies, John is the only one who didn't waste a moment of his breathe trying to drag any other companies name through the mud, Very professional of him. I have to admit that weighed very heavily on my final decision. His crew is amazing and very informative, they know what they are doing and get in and out without any interruptions to your everyday life. Clean up was important as it was wet and muddy during my job .They left my property as they found it before the job, if not cleaner. John is very upfront and honest, being a single mom with no knowledge of hiring contractors etc he heard all my concerns and took care of anything I had mentioned. Me being the skeptic thought what difference could one roofing company be compared to the next,well i could see the difference within the first few hours .The quality of workmanship with all the flashing and trim was just fantastic.His crew were on time and very diligent of every detail right up to the clean up. Well it was finally time for us to replace the cedar roof on our 22 year old house, and after doing the usual research (internet reviews, BBB, etc) we selected three creditable firms to quote the work. I have a background in construction management and am familiar with construction, trades, contacts, etc. so was fully expecting to go through the multi firm quote process before selecting a company. When I first called John at JMT, he responded to my inquiry within an hour, and came by our house the next day to take a look at our roof. After meeting with John and reviewing our scope, I made the immediate decision to cancel the other pending roofing quotes and signed JMT up for our roof and gutter replacement. This was based in part because John had responded so quickly, and arrived with a satellite image of our roof and material takeoff already prepared, and provided a rough estimate that was well within the range I expected for this scope of work. John was also very friendly and helpful and took extra time to help my wife and I select the type and color roof and gutters, and even provided locations of other installations for us to drive by and look at to assist in our decision making process. Shortly after finalizing the contract, the work was scheduled and the crews arrived on time at 7:00 AM on the designated start day, and in less than 3 days the entire roof and gutters on the house had been replaced and looked fantastic. The arrival of the crews, materials, cranes, bins etc was very well coordinated and gave a strong sense of a well run and experienced roofing company. The work progressed very quickly and with high attention to detail, and the crew was very hard working, friendly and took the time to ensure our yard was cleaned up at the end of working long hard days. As a homeowner I can safely say that my wife and I are thrilled at our decision to select JMT roofing, and as a construction manager I am impressed by professionalism and capability of John and his hard working quality roofing firm. If we had to do it all again, we would not change a thing and give JMT roofing our highest recommendation. My house needed new gutters as I had a metal roof installed 4 years ago but did not change the gutters. I found out that John's company did gutters and asked if he would be able to get mine done. John had his guy there the next day and he had a good look at the roof. As it turns out, JMT had actually done my next door neighbors gutters a couple of years back. I got a call from John that same evening with a very fair price and approximate start date. John called me again the next day to inform me that they would actually be able to start a day earlier in the afternoon. I got home from work and all the old gutters were removed and gone and all of the high areas in the back were installed already. They had cleaned up and left my yard spotless. We have a rental property in Fraser heights that was showing some signs of water leaking so we called JMT to come out and repair it. He repaired it then mentioned that the roof needs to be replaced, sure enough 6 months later there was another leak else where. so we called JMT to come and replace the whole roof. they came and did a great job on replacing the roof and also kept our tenants very happy with how clean they kept it. I had met John on a golf course 4 years ago and hired him to replace my roof and gutters in newton which he did a great job so there was no worries about the quality and fairness of the price. They followed the contract and provided me good material, they change everything for my roof as promised, the metal on the village and around the chimny, my skylight and so on.
